Directing is where I draw from my skills as a writer and editor and step into the present.
For me, it's about listening to each moment that calls me to collaborate with the swirling
cosmos of ideas and to create something that touches people.
EVER THE LAND is my award-winning debut feature documentary.
It's played over 30 international film festivals on 4 continents and has distribution in the US, Canada and Australia & NZ and caught the spotlight of Greenpeace International.
I have had the pleasure of working with Jane Campion and Jan Chapman on
the 25th anniversary re-release of THE PIANO. I produced & directed the featurette
THE PIANO - 25 YEARS ON released with the film on DVD and Blu-Ray in 2019.
I currently have two narrative features in development and I have my short film script
"Only Those That Can Resist" ready to shoot in 2020.
BEING MAN is the name of my latest project. It was created in collaboration with
New Zealand Rugby and is a raw and authentic conversation with Kiwi men, including
current and former All Blacks as well as men from all walks of life, as they reflect
on wellbeing, healthy relationships and masculinity.
